Filling up on natural mineral water in Manitou Springs

Manitou Springs  •

The first thing to do when coming in to the Colorado Springs Area is to stop and fill up in Manitou Springs. The the natural spring water flows from the hills. Free at several fountains. Founded in 1872, the town was become a resort and spa destination. Tourism can be traced back to the early days, as people began to discover the healing waters that Ute Indians had known about for hundreds of years. The 1980’s brought the formation of the Historic District, which is now one of the largest in the US. I wasn't able to get an hiking in around the base of Pike's Peak. The traffic and Parking was atrocious and I had a commitment to be interviewed on the Armstrong In The Loop Podcast. It was my second time working with the host Seth and Audio Whiz Carmen. After finding a nice quite street, I plunked down, set up a tripod and did the zoom call.
