Listening to the wisdom of the fire

It’s the final days back in Harmony. Only 4 days until I return to Alaska and am with Katy Jo. It is where I’m meant to be and I’m ready to be there. There was a pile ready to become a glorious bonfire. The fall evening was the perfect temperature. Instead of making it a big event, I shared a post and open invitation. A soft way to see what opens up and who would show up. The time was to be 7pm for the start of the fire. I prepped the tinder and added some scrap wood around 5:30. For the next hour, I just sat and enjoyed the evening. Around 6:30, I grabbed a chicken salad from the Harmony Inn. 7pm rolls around and it was still quiet. No people. Just me and the fire pile. As I lit the fire, it grew steadily. The large amount of wood behind the tinder sat ready for its ignition. There was a moment, the fire asked if I truly wanted to be committed to a large fire and long night. It asked in the way that I already understood the answer. It was not a night for a large fire. My body needed rest. So I removed the tinder and embers to the side beside the pile. It burned bright and slowly burned itself out. Two friends stopped over. It was a nice social call and was long enough for the embers to extinguish. Listening the the fire and my intuition created a perfect evening. #intuition #firekeeper #wisdomoftheelements
