The Heron farm in event center is located in Sherman New York. It is a working organic farm and farm store, a campground with Airbnb options, and an incredible venue for live music and festivals. Camping at the heron is nothing short of a magical experience. With over 400 acres and an absolute ton of campsites, there is installation art and creative lighting in the trees and pathways. Last year, the herons campground was rated number one in the country by hipcamp.com. You can book online reservations directly there. One of the many amenities available to campers, is their kitchen. The heron puts out incredible food that is healthy, locally sourced and many vegetarian options too. You cannot eat better than that in the woods anywhere that I found. I stopped in to meet with the owners and staff. I had lunch and walk the property. It was a great layover on this first leg of the trip to upstate New York. I may swing back at the end of the week to do some camping for a day or two. My first exposure or awareness of the heron, was in 2018. I attended the great rhythm revival put on by Jim Donovan. It was a transformative four day experience. That day I fell in love with the heron. It was also the time that I met Julie and Steve, the owners.
